Among his many achievements, Prof. Nawroth is the awardee of the 2018 Camillo Golgi Prize - a Prize for outstanding ontributions in the field of the histopathology, pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of the complications of diabetes mellitus. Prof. Nawroth was awarded the prize for his work on "Diabetic complications: an alternative view on diabetes"the Long School of Medicine at University of Texas Health San Antonio, where he has been on faculty since 1988.
